CANCELED Poetry Reading with Cyrus Cassells

The health and safety of students, faculty, staff and community friends remains UNC Charlotte’s top priority. The University has been monitoring the rapidly evolving situation around coronavirus (COVID-19) and has been working in close collaboration with local and state resources.

After careful thought and consideration, UNC Charlotte has decided to cancel the Poetry Reading with Cyrus Cassells on April 7, 2020, at 4 p.m. This was not an easy decision, but a necessary one in protecting the health and well-being of our campus community.

We will let you know if the University is able to reschedule the poetry reading.

Please join us for a poetry reading with Cyrus Cassells, sponsored by American Studies, the Departments of Africana Studies and English, and the Honors College. Cassells is the author of six award-winning books of poetry and a new chapbook, More Than Watchmen at Daybreak. A Guggenheim fellow, Pulitzer Prize nominee, and two-time NEA fellowship recipient, Cassells is a professor at Texas State University.

The poetry reading is in Fretwell, 290B at 4 p.m.
