Pruning Workshops

Saturday, February 22 Beginner Class 11 - 12 pm and Advanced Class 1 - 4 pm

Informed and well-timed pruning can improve woody plant health, improve plant shape, boost flower and fruit yield, and even give a poorly-performing plant an invigorating boost!

Beginner Class: Learn the basics, including: benefits of pruning, timing (when to prune different groups of plants), proper technique to assure new bud formation and limit damage and disease, and a review of tool selection.

Advanced Class Ed will take you into the Botanical Gardens for the advanced class where you will receive instruction and experience hands on learning by pruning woody plants here in our own gardens! This class is suitable for those who have taken beginner pruning or for experienced gardeners who want to learn more about pruning under the direction of a Horticultural expert.

Saturday, February 22 at 1:00pm to 4:00pm
