POSTPONED: UNC Charlotte Veterans Health Conference: A Family Focus

In light of the recent developments surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and after careful consideration with the leadership of UNC Charlotte, the College of Health and Human Services has decided to postpone the Veteran and Military Conference scheduled for Wednesday, April 1st. While we were all looking forward to this year’s conference, the health and safety of our guests are our first priority. We appreciate your understanding.


Please join the UNC Charlotte College of Health and Human Services Academy for Veteran and Military Health on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, for our half-day, streamlined, 7th Annual Veterans Health Conference. This year, our experts will focus on caring for the caregivers in military and veteran families. This free event will offer 2.75 contact hours* for nurses and 3.0 contact hours for social workers. *See registration page for details on nursing contact hours

  • Dr. Richard Tedeschi, Distinguished Chair, Bouldercrest Institute for Posttraumatic Growth, Emeritus Professor, UNC Charlotte

  • Coleton Whitaker, Program Manager, Elizabeth Dole Center of Excellence for Veteran and Caregiver Research

  • Karee White, Elizabeth Dole Caregiver Fellow, U.S. Army Major (Retired)

  • Olivia Lorentz, Caregiver Support Specialist, VA Salisbury

Conference also features:

  • An interactive panel discussion with state and local leaders in veterans care

  • Exhibits featuring representatives from the Salisbury VA Transition & Care Management Program, Charlotte Vet Center, Veterans Bridge Home, Wounded Warrior Project, and many more.
