Muslim Militancy: Causes and Solutions

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world and by 2050 Muslim population is projected to increase from 1.6 billion to 2.8 billion making up 30 percent of the world population.

In the US the number of Muslims will more than double over the next two decades. Should Americans fear Islam and Muslims? Is Islam a violent religion? Does Quran condone terrorism? What is Radical Islamic terrorism? Why some young Muslims believe in ISIS ideology?

Dr. Shehzad Saleem will talk about these challenging topics and respond to audience questions.

About the Speaker

Dr. Shehzad SaleemDr. Shehzad Saleem holds a Ph.D. on the History of the Qur'an from the University of Wales, UK.

He is the Editor of the Monthly Renaissance and founder of the Studying Islam website, which offers online courses on Islam. His work addresses some nagging questions related to the revelation, collection and transmission of the Qur'an.

Dr. Saleem has authored several books including Common Misconceptions about Islam, Playing God: Misreading a Divine Practice, and Islam and Women: Misconceptions and Misperceptions.
