R Essentials: Part 2

This is part 2 of a two-part workshop. Register for part 1 as well.

R Essentials is a short-course we conduct over two consecutive weeks in two workshop sessions. This course is designed for researchers who would like to get started in data analysis using R. R is arguably the most comprehensive statistical analysis software in the world with fast-expanding capabilities thanks to its open-source platform. This workshop will introduce R using RStudio, one of its more popular user interfaces.

Topics include:

Part 1 – Introduction and Data Management:

Learning about the software interface, data typology, file management and data manipulation techniques

Part 2 – Data Management and Modeling, Exploration and Visualization:

More Data Manipulation techniques, Conducting exploratory analyses, summarizing data with descriptive statistics and tabulations, building simple and complex graphicsBuilding explanatory and predictive models such as multiple linear regression etc.

The sessions are fully hands-on, meaning you’ll be practicing on data sets while you receive focused guidance from the instructor for accomplishing analyses tasks. We have designed these courses in a way that participants with little or no experience could learn this valuable tool of research with ease.

Pre-requisites: Please refer to the pre-requisites guide.

Registration Required on Project Mosaic Calendar.
